## Class A Driver Description

A Class A Driver is responsible for driving and operating the company's trucks and various trailers. They pick up and haul various fluids including fresh water, brine (salt) water, drilling mud, non-hazardous, and hazardous waste; as well as flatbed, end dump/belt trailer and heavy equipment. All duties of the driver are to be performed consistent with company operating procedures to maximize the safety of all personnel at the work site and to efficiently perform tasks assigned.

Applicants will receive on-the-job training to operate vacuum trailers, end dumps, belt trailers, winch trucks, lowboys and flatbeds. Must be willing to travel throughout California for various projects and stay overnight occasionally.

## Class A Driver Qualifications

• Pass the company’s drug and alcohol screening.
• Pass the company’s pre-employment physical and FCE.
• Must have a valid CDL class A driver’s license with the proper endorsements required for the type of vehicle operated, issued by the state of California.
• Must have valid hazmat endorsement on CDL license
• Must have an acceptable motor vehicle report (H-6 10-year print out from the DMV) with no 2-point convictions in the last 10 years and no more than 3 points total.
• Ability to read, write and speak English to the extent that they can understand verbal and written instructions as well as give verbal and written instructions in English; and the ability to use simple mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals (addition, subtraction, division and multiplication) to make job related calculations.
• Heavy Work – Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are more than those for Medium Work.
• This position requires standing, walking, and sitting while working either indoors or outdoors.
• While performing the job, will be required to lift/carry, push/pull, reach, squat, kneel, and/or climb ladders or stairs.
• Working conditions for this position may involve exposure to various environmental conditions. This may include chemicals, gases, cold/heat, noise, dampness, dust, fumes, radiation and heights. Exposure to the above conditions should be handled as prescribed in the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures.
• Must have the applicable knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations as required for the position.
