## Description
GENERAL FUNCTION
The Compliance Specialist executes the Bank’s Compliance Management Program to ensure regulatory compliance in adherence to state and federal legal regulatory requirements. Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring, training, and communication of compliance-related procedures for any relevant banking issues, products, services, processes, reporting, testing, etc. Proactively identify and communicate issues for timely, effective escalation and remediation. Stay aware of applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure sound application and decision-making for matters of compliance risk and the advancement of the Bank’s strong compliance culture.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Regulatory Compliance Administration
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable consumer compliance laws and regulations relevant to assigned responsibilities. Communicate with Management and Team Members regarding regulation, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor guidance and bulletins issued by government regulatory agencies and industry groups for emerging changes and risks, while identifying the impact to the Bank. Ensure that Bank policies are accurate, current, and in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Assist with the development and implementation of the Compliance Management Program (CMP) as directed. Support the CMP through continued awareness, monitoring, communication, and suggestions for resolution, efficiencies, and effectiveness.
- Perform assigned compliance monitoring and testing activities, including review of applicable documentation, identification of potential exceptions, documentation of results, communication of findings, and follow-up on corrective action as needed.
- Coordinate and gather information for specified compliance monitoring, compliance reviews, and the internal monitoring program. Generate and verify reports and information. Collaborate with management to develop and implement plans to resolve identified weaknesses.
- Assist with audits, exams, board reporting, and resolution as directed.
Bank Compliance Liaison
- Serve as an internal frontline resource on applicable laws and regulations, keeping abreast of changes that may affect operational compliance issues through personal initiative, seminars, training programs, and peer contact.
- Collaborate with other members of the Compliance and other teams to provide guidance and maintain open communication throughout the Bank. Ensure that Management, Team Members, and the Board of Directors have appropriate awareness of their responsibilities for ensuring compliance in their respective areas.
- Assist with the review of new programs, products, services, training modules, and systems, as directed, to ensure that they meet the requirements of applicable regulations.
- Review and revise the Bank's forms and disclosures for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Work with compliance vendors regarding the design and implementation of new forms, disclosures, etc.
- Proactively communicate with management and the credit/lending team to identify and resolve issues, concerns, errors, omissions, deadlines, and other potential concerns.
Compliance (this section is the same for all Bank Team Members)
- Review the Bank’s information security guidelines regularly and avoid activity that could expose the Bank to malware, scams, and fraud. Follow all guidelines for securing your accounts, access, systems, and information. Be proactive in identifying threats to information security and relay concerns to the information security team.
- Diligently protect confidential information and assist the Bank in ensuring that all confidential and sensitive information is handled appropriately.
- Maintain an active awareness and understanding of policies, procedures, designated authorities, regulations, and laws, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, Red Flags, Consumer Privacy, Fair Lending, other applicable lending laws, etc. Follow these at all times.
- Communicate openly with supervisors and other management about policies, procedures, work conduct, and job functions. Ask questions to clarify any uncertainty when issues arise.
- Address with your supervisor questions about suspected violations of policy and procedure, and other laws and guidelines, as outlined in the Code of Conduct, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, lending laws, etc.
- Participate in training sessions and policy updates as necessary. Assist with coordination of scheduling as appropriate.

## Qualifications
Requirements
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Required: 1-2 Years Banking Compliance experience
- Preferred: BS Degree in Finance, or related field (example)
- Required: Understanding of compliance function and applicable guidelines and regulations
