About The Role

## Description

The Lab Technician I is responsible for executing the Quality Control programs for AgCertain on a daily basis to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, and maintaining analytical throughput to match the production rate, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Operate safely and appropriately in all AgCertain situations and environments
  • Ability to demonstrate a basic and continually increasing understanding of the laboratory environment and quality control practices
  • Participate in all competency testing programs including interdepartmental and customer-based equivalency testing
  • Collect samples from the production area and perform all relevant analytical tests according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Perform accurate testing of samples to create final product Certificate of Analyses (CoAs) for approval by others as defined by SOPs in a timely manner
  • Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
  • Communicate directly with the production team to ensure effective participation by the process operators on the implementation of QA/QC policies and procedures
  • Handle, organize, and store all chemical substances, fluids, and gases according to safety instructions
  • Communicate with third-party labs to schedule outside testing services
  • Participate in all company trainings
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

## Qualifications

  • An Associate’s Degree in a relevant scientific or technical field is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous experience in academic, chemical, and/or commercial lab experience preferred
  • Physical abilities to include the ability to lift 50 lbs (23 Kg), able to climb several flights of stairs and not affected by heights
  • Experience with automated laboratory instruments preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate internally and externally with customers
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and general office equipment is required
  • Act with humility, honesty, integrity, and a commitment to safety
  • Abide by Good Manufacturing Practices in all areas of the facility
