About The Role
Join Frisbee Rewards as a Lead Backend Engineer, where you will be the technical anchor for the Frisbee consumer application and lead execution across Attain's mobile engineering teams. You will design, build, and own backend services, define and maintain APIs, and collaborate with Product and Design to translate customer needs into scalable systems. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior developer looking to grow into a broader technical leadership role.
- Design, build, and own backend services (primarily Rust-based microservices) that power the Frisbee consumer experience.
- Define and maintain clean, well-documented APIs and client-server contracts used by iOS and Android applications.
- Act as technical owner for major initiatives from design through production, providing architectural guidance and code review across backend and mobile codebases.
- You enjoy working closely with mobile engineers and are comfortable defining APIs, schemas, and data models that power data-driven mobile clients
- You value clear communication, strong engineering judgment, and constructive feedback
- You’re excited to design and build backend services that orchestrate product behavior, business logic, and user experience
- You’re interested in growing into broader technical leadership over time
- You bring strong backend engineering experience and enjoy owning systems end to end, including making pragmatic architectural decisions in ambiguous problem spaces
- Experience integrating third-party SDKs (e.g., analytics, scanning, CRM)
- Experience evolving complex systems and working with microservice or service-oriented architectures
- Experience with gRPC, protobuf, or GraphQL
- Strong experience designing APIs, service boundaries, and data models
- 6+ years of experience building and owning backend systems in production environments
- Experience working closely with iOS and Android engineering teams
- Experience operating systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Experience with relational databases
- Understanding of mobile performance characteristics and constraints
- Exposure to React Native
- Familiarity with backend- or configuration-driven client architectures
