Senior Software Engineer

Join our team as a Senior Backend Engineer in New York. You will lead key business initiatives, improve existing architecture and services, and design large-scale data-intensive applications. Responsibilities include owning the end-to-end delivery of key business initiatives, architecting and evolving core distributed services, and mentoring engineers. The ideal candidate should have a background in backend development, experience with cloud-hosted services, and a strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.

• Lead key business initiatives and own the end-to-end delivery of projects from product discovery to feature launch.
• Architect and evolve core distributed services for reliability, scalability, and performance, and design large-scale data-intensive applications.
• Mentor engineers through code and architecture reviews, and partner with product, data, and business stakeholders to shape technical direction.
• The ideal candidate should have a background in backend development and experience working with cloud-hosted services
• This person should also be a motivated self-starter who is able to feel at ease working in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Proficiency in both RDBMS and NoSQL databases
• Experience with cloud-hosted services, like AWS or GCP
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and multi-threaded programming
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with backend experience using a JVM language, preferably Java
