About The Role

Join Illumio, a leader in Zero Trust Segmentation, as the Director of Engineering (Insights). In this role, you will lead the team responsible for the newly launched SaaS Insights product, drive the strategy and delivery of AI-powered product capabilities, and grow and develop a top-tier engineering team. You will have significant visibility, responsibility, and growth potential, and will play a critical role in product planning and long-term technical and business strategy.

  • Lead the team responsible for the newly launched SaaS Insights product, define and execute its roadmap, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product growth.
  • Drive the strategy, design, and delivery of AI-powered product capabilities, leveraging agentic workflows and large language models (LLMs) to create differentiated, intelligent user experiences and automation at scale.
  • Grow and develop a top-tier engineering team, working closely with senior technical leads and cross-functional leaders, and ensure the correctness, scalability, and modularity of the architecture and implementation.
  • Experience managing 10+ full-time engineers in a global environment, with 10+ years in roles of increasing responsibility and technical leadership
  • Experience with modern public cloud infrastructure (particularly AWS and Azure), containerization and orchestration technologies, and DevOps tools and best practices
  • Strong, hands-on experience with AI/ML system design and production deployment, including prompt engineering, data pipelines, observability, evaluation frameworks, and cost/performance/latency trade-offs in production LLM-powered applications
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for driving a culture of innovation and continuous improvement leveraging AI, strong leadership behaviors, and decisive actions
  • Significant experience building and delivering scalable, cloud-native enterprise SaaS products and services. Proven track record of taking enterprise software products from inception through to successful customer delivery
  • Experience developing and supporting enterprise software in regulated environments (e.g., FedRAMP, PCI) is highly desired
  • Proven experience designing, building, and shipping AI-assisted products, with practical, real-world experience using large language models (LLMs) and agentic workflows to deliver customer-facing automation and innovation
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
