Senior Frontend Software Engineer (Voice Communication)

Join Roblox as a Senior Frontend Software Engineer on the Voice Communication team. In this role, you will drive Communication Daily Active Users (DAU) by creating an engaging and seamless experience for millions of users. You will architect a robust voice client foundation, enabling internal teams to easily integrate voice capabilities into their products. Your work will empower the creator community and ensure adherence to safety standards. You will also mentor and grow senior engineers, shape the frontend engineering culture, and take end-to-end ownership of projects.

• Architect and lead the development of a robust, highly scalable voice client foundation designed to serve as a company-wide platform.
• Drive Communication Daily Active Users (DAU) by envisioning and architecting a highly engaging, immersive and seamless experience for millions of users.
• Mentor and grow senior engineers, remove roadblocks for your teammates, and cultivate an environment where everyone can do their best work.
• Passion for client performance and solving really complex problems requiring performance profiling and optimization (things like memory management, rendering, etc.)
• Product-opinionated: You don't just execute plans, you proactively shape our roadmap, and push for the right product outcomes
• Hands-on: You write code, review code, and stay close to the product. You're not looking for a role where you stop building
• Technical leadership. Proven experience mentoring and leveling up junior engineers into independent technical leaders
• An AI advocate: You actively push the boundaries of AI-assisted development for yourself and your team
• Leveraged AI for high-velocity execution. You have used AI-assisted development tools to accelerate prototyping, iterate quickly, and drive concepts to production
• Experience working on large-scale consumer applications in React/Redux, React Native, iOS, Android, Windows, Mac OS and other platforms
• Robust system design skills. Demonstrated ability to author clear, actionable technical design docs that align stakeholders and hold up well in architectural reviews
• Real-time communications expertise in technologies like WebRTC or other equivalent ones. Led communication experiences at scale — think WhatsApp, Google Meet, FaceTime, Discord, or similar
• 5+ years of frontend or client engineering experience (8+ years without a CS or related degree), with a focus on building complex UIs and partnering closely with Product and Design
