Lead Java Backend Engineer (Core Trading Technology)

Join Deutsche Bank as a Lead Java Backend Engineer in our Core Trading Technology team. You will be responsible for building high-performance backend systems for electronic trading, working on business and functional requirements, technical analysis and design, and contributing to the future state of the system architecture. You will also mentor junior developers and collaborate with the QA team and Dev Ops. A strong background in core Java, Linux, SQL, and algorithms is required.

• Lead the design and development of high-performance backend systems for electronic trading, ensuring low-latency performance and deep integration with market venues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business and functional requirements, conduct technical analysis, and prototype new features.
• Mentor junior developers, review code, and lead a sub-team to ensure high-quality software delivery and adherence to best practices.
• Excellent knowledge of core Java (collections, multi-threading, networking) – 5+ years
• Experience implementing fault-tolerant / load-balancing solutions, experience in performance optimisation of multi-threaded Java applications
• Good knowledge of Linux, basic knowledge of SQL relational databases solutions, good knowledge of messaging solutions
• Good math and strong knowledge of algorithms and complexity
• Good written and spoken English
