Technical Accounting Manager

Join Motorola Solutions as a Technical Accounting Manager. In this role, you will be part of the Corporate Controller's organization and report to the Assistant Corporate Controller. You will be responsible for external financial reporting, technical accounting, GAAP compliance, corporate consolidations, and accounting and reporting for corporate functions. You will also lead the finance due diligence associated with potential acquisitions and divestitures, review revenue contracts for compliance with ASC 606, and manage the relationship with the external auditor. • Lead the finance due diligence associated with potential acquisitions and divestitures, and review revenue contracts for compliance with ASC 606.
• Manage the relationship with the external auditor, interface with SEC on matters of interest, and lead the Company’s efforts to adopt new accounting standards.
• Anticipate the impact to Motorola Solutions of proposed business models, strategic initiatives and compliance/regulatory changes, and prepare comment letters on proposed U.S. and International accounting standards.
• Certified Public Accountant (or equivalent) preferred
• Significant public accounting experience, Big Four experience preferred
• Strong background in accounting research and issue resolution
• 6+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance, including experience in technical accounting, financial reporting and accounting research
• Technical accounting skills, including sound understanding of revenue recognition and lease accounting literature
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting preferred)
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
• 1+ year(s) of experience in Technical Accounting, Financial Reporting and Accounting Research
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance with 6+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance
