Senior Software Engineer (Intelligence)

Join Flock, a rapidly growing investigative platform, as a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will design and build reliable backend systems, integrate frameworks, and ensure the accuracy and performance of our AI tools. You will lead the architectural evolution and backend execution for Flock's investigative workflows, engineer high-throughput integration pipelines, and partner with Machine Learning and Data Engineering teams. This position is focused strictly on backend microservices, database access patterns, API design, and LLM orchestration.

• Design and implement reliable backend systems, integration frameworks, and orchestration backends for Flock's investigative workflows.
• Lead the architectural evolution and backend execution for Flock's investigative workflows, ensuring high-performance and low-latency infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Machine Learning and Data Engineering teams to bridge unstructured LLM outputs with structured internal APIs, maintaining strict schema validation.
• Demonstrated capability writing performant production code in Python or TypeScript to build scalable backend web services and microservices
• Deep database proficiency with PostgreSQL, OLAP databases, and Redis to optimize complex data access patterns and real-time retrieval without sacrificing latency
• Strong background in cloud-native infrastructure, including hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
• Demonstrated capability taking ambiguous technical problems in zero-to-one product spaces and translating them into clear architectural roadmaps
• Experience with LLM evaluation frameworks, vector search, or infrastructure-as-code is a plus
• Practical experience implementing agentic workflows, function calling, Model Context Protocol tools, and prompt engineering with major LLM APIs
