Senior Software Engineer (Fleet Maintenance)

Join Fleetio, a leading fleet management software company, as a Senior Software Engineer on the Fleet Maintenance team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on our customers' lives by crafting new functionality to help efficiently maintain fleets of vehicles. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers to consistently deliver high-quality software. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across the web stack, with a good balance of both frontend and backend skills.

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers to consistently deliver high-quality software.
• Take part in planning, designing, and implementing fleet maintenance solutions for customers, and engage in collaborative design and architecture of features.
• Deliver well-tested, maintainable, and performant code, and thoroughly review your peers’ code to ensure quality and consistency.
• The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate a strong proficiency in full-stack development and UI/UX design principles, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions
• You are passionate about solving business problems with clean, consistent design and scalable architecture
• You are product-minded and team-oriented, receptive to others' perspectives while sharing knowledge about best practices
• You should be an effective communicator and be comfortable working in an asynchronous environment with your team
• Experienced writing unit and UI tests

• Knowledgeable on the current state of the Ruby on Rails and React ecosystems
• Pixel-perfect attention to detail in implementing UI designs
• Experience partnering closely with Product Managers and Designers to balance technical requirements with customer and business needs
• 2+ years experience with ReactJS, Typescript
• Experience owning ambiguous, cross-functional technical initiatives
• Varied experience building full stack web based systems and features
• 5+ years experience with Ruby on Rails
• Comfortable discussing tradeoffs between speed, quality, maintainability, and business impact
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in fleet management, transportation technology, logistics, telematics, connected vehicle systems, or other fleet-adjacent domains
