Senior Software Engineer (Payments)

Join Fleetio, a rapidly growing company in the fleet management industry. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of the Marketplace Engineering Team, responsible for developing and implementing features that connect customers to maintenance shops, facilitate service, approvals, transactions, billing, and data entry for fleets. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers to deliver high-quality software. • You have extensive experience planning, designing, and building marketplace solutions with cross-functional partners such as Product Managers, Designers, and Quality Engineers

• 7+ years experience as a software engineer
• Previous experience with payment systems like Stripe, Brex, etc
• Excellent communication skills (particularly written)
• Expertise with data modeling and optimizing query performance
• Experience with unit testing frameworks
• Solid experience solving challenging architectural problems with good design
• 2+ years experience with ReactJS, Typescript
• 3+ years experience with Ruby on Rails
• Firm understanding of object-oriented programming and relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Previous experience building APIs for consumer/mobile app consumption
• You know a thing or two about the Fleet management industry
• Experience leading small teams/projects
• Expertise with consuming and integrating external APIs and/or webhooks
