About The Role

Join Commure + Athelas, a leading company in the healthcare technology space. As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in scaling and maintaining our practice management platform, Insights. You will design, build, and maintain scalable full-stack solutions, improve system reliability and observability, and optimize performance and scalability. You will also collaborate with infrastructure and backend teams, own high-impact projects, conduct code reviews, and work closely with product and design teams. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of professional software development experience, proficiency in full-stack development, and excellent communication skills.

  • Proficiency in full-stack development with expertise in JavaScript (React/Vue), Python, and PostgreSQL
  • Experience owning multi-month, high-impact projects, balancing trade-offs, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical concepts to leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Good understanding of modern front-end engineering, React fundamentals, performance optimization, state management, and component-driven design
  • Solid architectural skills with experience designing and maintaining highly scalable, reliable, and performant web applications
  • Experience scaling front-end applications in a fast-growing, high-traffic environment
  • Deep understanding of frontend performance optimizations and ability to diagnose bottlenecks in React applications
  • Strong product intuition with a track record of influencing UX/UI decisions to improve usability
  • Background in data visualization and building interactive dashboards for analytics-heavy applications
  • Experience with developer tooling and CI/CD pipelines for frontend applications
  • Familiarity with modern API design patterns (GraphQL, REST, gRPC) and best practices in backend-for-frontend (BFF) architectures
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong engineering blog presence
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries (finance, insurance, government) with a focus on security and compliance
  • A passion for improving healthcare and healthcare operations in America
