Staff Software Engineer (Accounts & Ledgering)

Join our team as a Staff Software Engineer, where you will be responsible for owning the accounts and ledgering spine of our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) platform. You will design and build the next generation of our account and ledgering system, moving towards an event-oriented financial model. Your team will manage the full money path, including insurance ledgers, posting and adjustment engines, patient account ledgers, bank reconciliation, and reporting. You will also be responsible for ensuring operational balances and financial reports are in sync, reconciling multiple sources of truth, and scaling posting and adjustment pipelines. Additionally, you will mentor senior and staff engineers, run architecture and design reviews, and take ownership of complex, cross-system initiatives.

• 8+ years building software, with a track record of Staff-level work, architecture ownership, mentoring, cross-team influence
• You've shipped production systems with observability, alerting, and incident response practices, especially for high-stakes workflows
• Strong communication and collaboration skills. You can work with ops and customers when correctness matters
• Strong backend engineering (Python preferred) and deep experience with relational databases at scale: query performance, ACID transactions, safe migrations, data integrity
• Healthcare RCM, patient accounting, insurance remittance (835/ERA), AR aging, or practice-management billing
• File-based integrations, bank reconciliation, event-sourced/CDC architectures, or high-throughput batch pipelines
• Experience evolving a monolith toward clearer domain boundaries or event-oriented model
