Associate Data Scientist

Join Hayden AI as an Associate Data Scientist, where you'll support a diverse set of stakeholders with data and analytics needs. You'll work at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and data science, enabling various teams to get their data questions answered in a timely and accurate manner. Your responsibilities will include creating and improving standardized metrics, compelling data stories, visualizations, and dashboards, as well as serving as the first responder for data discrepancies and freshness issues. You will also support data scientists by preparing datasets, performing exploratory analysis, and providing review and feedback on team analyses.

• Support the Data Science team by creating and improving standardized metrics, data stories, visualizations, and dashboards.
• Act as the interface between customer-facing teams and the data team, translating business questions into data requirements.
• Monitor data quality and completeness in data processing steps, flagging issues and driving fixes.
• 6+ months of Data Science related work, projects or internships
• Strong knowledge of Python for data manipulation and analysis (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)
• Solid understanding of descriptive statistics and ability to interpret analytical results
• Experience with dbt, AWS Glue, or similar data transformation and pipeline tools
• Experience building and maintaining dashboards in BI tools such as Tableau or Looker
• Master's in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Transportation Engineering, or a related field
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings to both technical and business audiences
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with data warehouse systems such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake
• Previous experience working with geospatial analytics and spatial datasets
• Experience with large-scale time-series and mobility datasets (e.g., GTFS, GPS traces, transit logs)
• Experience with Grafana or similar operational monitoring tools
• Prior experience in a startup environment and a desire to make a significant impact
• Exposure to cloud platforms, especially AWS
