About The Role
Join The Telegraph's Graphics team as an Infographic Designer, where you'll transform information into compelling visual storytelling forms. You'll create engaging infographics for print and digital platforms, visually communicate complex subjects, and develop new approaches for presenting stories. Collaborate with various teams, research topics, and lead the conversation on information graphics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design, data visualization, and a passion for current affairs.
- Créer des infographies engageantes pour les plateformes imprimées et numériques.
- Communiquer visuellement des sujets complexes de manière claire et concise.
- Collaborer avec des éditeurs, des journalistes et d'autres membres de l'équipe pour développer de nouvelles approches.
- Good organisational skills and time management (Email, Trello)
- A keen pursuit for technical development and enhancing personal skills
- Naturally inquisitive, with excellent observation skills
- Fundamental front-end code capabilities (HTML/CSS/JS)
- Proficient in technical illustration (Adobe Illustrator. Experience in 3D programs a bonus)
- An extensive portfolio, showcasing graphic design and infographics
- Previous experience in publishing is a bonus
- Solid grasp of mathematics to enable precision plotting and problem solving
- Advanced practice of graphic design fundamentals (Typography, colour perception, composition, geometry etc)
- Extensive understanding of user focused design and interface design (Figma)
- Cartography and geospatial analysis (QGIS, MapShaper)
- Active interest in current affairs and global events
- Data analysis and editing, to establish trends and points of interest (Excel, Sheets. R or Python is a bonus)
- Competent in data visualisation tools (Raw, DataWrapper)
- Comprehensive understanding of media types and digital formats
- The Successful Candidate will have
- Comprehensive understanding of graphic production on both print and digital platforms
- In-depth knowledge of editorial design and visual storytelling within publishing
- A passion for data visualisation and visual storytelling
