About The Role

Join SB Canada as a Co-Op/Contract HSE Coordinator, where you'll support the implementation and continuous improvement of our Health, Safety & Environmental programs. You'll gain exposure to project operations, safety systems, inspections, investigations, audits, training, reporting, and risk management. This role is based in Calgary, Alberta, and requires travel to project sites.

  • Participate in the implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety & Environmental programs.
  • Assist with site inspections, audits, assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Support data analysis, reporting, and training initiatives related to health and safety.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to identify potential risks and support corrective actions
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a collaborative environment
  • Interest in HSE inspections, investigations, and program development
  • Previous construction, safety, or internship experience is considered an asset
  • First Aid, WHMIS, CPR, or other safety certifications are considered an asset
  • Familiarity with applicable health and safety regulations is considered an asset
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the assigned region
