Grade Foreperson

Join BA Blacktop Ltd. as a Grade Foreperson, where you will oversee the execution of work on job sites in Sechelt, Powell River, and other locations within the Sunshine Coast area. You will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling onsite work, ensuring quality of work, training and developing crew members, managing equipment, reporting and record keeping, and maintaining site safety. This position requires a strong knowledge of utilities/construction activities and processes, the ability to read and interpret site plans/blueprints, and excellent leadership and communication skills.

• Assurer que les exigences de qualité sont respectées, traiter et corriger toutes les déficiences dès que possible, et communiquer toutes les déficiences avec le Superintendant.

• **Essential Qualifications**

• Heavy a strong and growing knowledge of utilities/construction activities and processes
• Have a strong and growing knowledge of specifications (MoTI, MMCD, local government specifications)
• Ability to read and interpret site plans/blueprints and look up specifications from MoTI / MMCD
• Ability to organize all field aspects needed on-site to begin and complete a job
• Possess general computer skills
• Ability to measure and calculate length, surface, volumes, and quantities
• Ability to perform field project layout from drawings and cut sheets
• Ability to use a laser level, calculate elevations, and layout elevations
• Have a working knowledge of all the equipment on site
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Strong communication skills with clients and the public
• A desire to learn and teach; a passion to excel and to strive to get the most out of employeesWHMIS
• Occupational First aid Level 1
• Traffic Control Person Training
• Confined Space Entry and Rescue
• Grader Operation (for Foreperson/Grader Operator)
• Papyrus Training and Intelex Training

**ADDITIONAL COMMENTS ON THE ROLE**

A Grade Foreperson’s role requires flexibility, as the candidate will need to oversee and manage construction activities on small to medium road/parking projects located in Sechelt, Powell River, and potentially other areas of the Sunshine Coast. This position requires frequent travel between these locations as project sites change annually.

**Pay:** From $45.50 per hour
