Grade Foreperson

Join BA Blacktop Ltd., a leading construction company, as a Grade Foreperson in the Fraser Valley Area. In this role, you will oversee the execution of work on the job site, coordinate and schedule onsite work, ensure quality of work, manage equipment, and maintain site safety. You will also be responsible for training and developing crew members and keeping accurate records. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of construction activities and processes, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a desire to learn and teach.

• Assurer que les ordres de travail et toutes les informations nécessaires sont fournis avant de commencer le travail, et revoir les ordres de travail pour comprendre pleinement l'étendue du travail et les délais.
• Coordonner et planifier le travail sur le site, informer tous les travailleurs sur le site du calendrier, et superviser tous les aspects des opérations quotidiennes et hebdomadaires.
• Assurer que les exigences de qualité sont respectées, corriger toutes les déficiences dès que possible, et communiquer toutes les déficiences avec le Superintendant.

• **Essential Qualifications**

• Heavy a strong and growing knowledge of utilities/construction activities and processes
• Have a strong and growing knowledge of specifications (MoTI, MMCD, local government specifications)
• Ability to read and interpret site plans/blueprints and look up specifications from MoTI / MMCD
• Ability to organize all field aspects needed on-site to begin and complete a job
• Possess general computer skills
• Ability to measure and calculate length, surface, volumes, and quantities
• Ability to perform field project layout from drawings and cut sheets
• Ability to use a laser level, calculate elevations, and layout elevations
• Have a working knowledge of all the equipment on site
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Strong communication skills with clients and the public
• A desire to learn and teach; a passion to excel and to strive to get the most out of employeesWHMIS
• Occupational First aid Level 1
• Traffic Control Person Training
• Confined Space Entry and Rescue
• Grader Operation (for Foreperson/Grader Operator)
• Papyrus Training and Intelex Training

• Site Plan Reading Course (BCIT)
• Survey Course (Union/BCIT)
• Public Works Course (BCIT)

• Occupational First aid Level 2
• Confined Space Entry and Rescue (May be mandatory on some projects)

• Hoisting & Rigging
• Heavy Duty Trailer Endorsement Training

**ADDITIONAL COMMENTS ON THE ROLE**

A Grade Foreperson’s role requires flexibility, as the candidate will need to oversee and manage construction activities on small to medium road/parking projects in the Fraser Valley Area.

**Pay:** From $45.50 per hour
