About The Role
Join our team as a Health & Safety Manager for the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station refurbishment program. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the health and safety program, ensuring compliance with legislation, and conducting training for management and staff. You will also provide regular reporting and recommendations to senior management on health and safety statistics and performance. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in the construction industry, knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, and proven experience in tunneling or underground works.
- Act in a leading role in the development, implementation, and management of the Health & Safety program, ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Develop, refine, and maintain organizational health and safety programs and strategies to prevent workplace injuries, and influence companywide training initiatives.
- Provide regular reporting and recommendations to senior management on health and safety statistics and performance, and improve the level of excellence in the company’s Health & Safety programs.
- Minimum of 15 years experience in the construction industry, preferably on large infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
- COR Auditor training is preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Exhibit strong time management skills
- High attention to detail and proactive approach to problem-solving
- Demonstrate practical knowledge of current health and safety legislation
- Proven experience in tunneling or underground works, preferably with TBM operations
- Familiarity with safety management systems and incident reporting tools
- Experience working on projects with high-risk environments (nuclear, offshore, or similar)
