Staff Software Engineer (Merchant Platform)

Join Parafin as a Staff Software Engineer on the Merchant Platform team. You will be responsible for designing and building scalable systems that support our merchant-facing products and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless product integrations and enhance the merchant experience. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals, experience building and operating production backend or platform systems, and a passion for building high-quality software.

• Collaborate with engineering and non-engineering stakeholders to launch new products and improve existing ones.
• Own the core platform, identify, prioritize, and execute on infrastructure opportunities to accelerate product development.
• Design and build scalable systems that support merchant-facing products and services, and develop features that enhance the merchant experience.
• The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong technical fundamentals, the ability to navigate ambiguity and take ownership of projects from inception to completion
• You have a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science (or related field)
• You take the initiative to identify commonalities between different problem statements and design appropriate abstractions accordingly
• You have experience building and operating asynchronous systems or data pipelines in production environments
• 6+ years of experience building and operating production backend or platform systems
• You are excited about working on a small team and helping us set the foundations for the company
• You care deeply about building high-quality software and take immense pride in your craft
• You are comfortable owning and driving the development of both product and platform initiatives from scratch
