Senior Software Engineer (Zarf Team)

Join Defense Unicorns, a leading defense technology company, as a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will work on open source products, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and end users. You will lead the design, implementation, and deployment of features and systems that have a direct impact on mission outcomes. You will also engage with the open source community, industry partners, and standards bodies to drive our open source projects forward. Additionally, you will integrate software products with existing defense systems, own architecture decisions, and provide technical mentorship to elevate engineering standards across the team.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and end users to ensure the development of effective solutions.
• Lead the design, implementation, and deployment of features and systems that directly impact mission outcomes.
• Engage with the open source community, industry partners, and standards bodies to drive open source projects forward.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, comfortable conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• 5+ years experience with software engineering
• Experience building a software tool with core focuses on software lifecycle and management
• Experience contributing to Open Source Projects. Participating in Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), Apache Software Foundation (ASF), or Open Source Security Foundation (OpenSSF) is a huge plus
• Proficient in Go (proficiency in other modern programming languages a plus)
• Strong understanding of system design, library and software APIs, and cloud architecture (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Familiar with Core Kubernetes Concepts including but not limited to Controllers, Operators, and CRDs
• Excited to assess intricate problems, propose solutions, and implement them effectively
