Associate Director of Cost

About The Role
Join our rapidly expanding Cost Management (Project Controls) team as an Associate Director. You will play a key role in developing and delivering the business plan, managing resources, and fostering a positive working environment. You will be responsible for delivering multiple commissions, supporting recruitment efforts, and driving business growth. Additionally, you will enhance our Cost Management capability, lead our community of practice, and deliver exceptional client service.
- Manage and plan resources, innovate and foster a collaborative working environment, and deliver an appropriate cost management role.
- Deliver multiple commissions, support the Head of Cost Management in recruiting high calibre individuals, and stimulate profitable growth for the team.
- Lead the development and use of Cost Management related software, drive technical excellence, service innovation, and support the development of benchmarking capabilities.
- Recognised expertise and e Experience in Cost Management services across complex infrastructure industry (either Rail, Highways, Water, Aviation)
- Exceptional Technical ability to monitor, analyse, and control cost performance against set targets
- Leadership and technical capabilities to challenge engineering teams and identify/cost efficient design solutions
- Proven track record of working in a consultancy environment, delivering exceptional projects, and managing teams
- Expert level and ability to develop and understand performance measurement of projects using Earned Value Management (EVM) and similar techniques
- Comprehensive understanding of the tasks facing transport the sector and the opportunities available
- Proven track record to supervise projects for or on behalf of local or national Complex Infrastructure clients
- Degree qualified in a construction or finance related field. Preferably with RICS, ICE, AACE, ACostE or similar
- Commercial and quantity surveying skills or Finance skills, with full working knowledge of the construction industry, and an understanding of Standard NEC Forms of Contracts (NEC/FIDIC/IChemE), and their commercial basis
- Strong network within the energy and/ortransport infrastructure sectors
- Major project/programmes of work experience
- People Management experience and the ability to inspire and motivate teams and unlock future talent for the business
- Proven track record of service innovation, technical excellenceexcellence, and exceptional service delivery
- An excellent understanding of industry benchmarks / best practices, Cost and Work Breakdown StructuresStructures, and methods of measurements (e.g. RMM, MMHWNRM etc)
- Collaborative behaviours and technical expertise to interface with wider project controls expertise including schedule logic and risk exposure
