About The Role
Join our Nuclear Legal Affairs team as a Senior Paralegal. In this role, you will support various legal activities related to Canada's nuclear industry, including commercial agreements, intellectual property management, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with legal counsel and business stakeholders, contributing to complex engineering projects and strategic commercial arrangements. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine traditional paralegal skills with project support, legal operations, technology, and strategic business engagement in a highly regulated industry.
- Support legal counsel in the preparation, review, execution and administration of commercial agreements, and maintain and organize contract repositories.
- Assist with the management of intellectual property records, including patents, trademarks, copyrights and technology licensing agreements.
- Support corporate governance processes and maintenance of corporate records, and assist with preparation of resolutions, officer certificates, powers of attorney and related corporate documentation.
- Ability to manage confidential and commercially sensitive information
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint
- Paralegal Diploma, Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent legal education
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience as a paralegal or legal professional
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working within an in-house legal department, law firm, or complex commercial environment
- Strong experience reviewing, organizing and managing legal and commercial documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
- Experience supporting major infrastructure, engineering, energy or nuclear projects
- Corporate governance experience
- Experience supporting implementation of legal technology and AI-based solutions
- Intellectual property administration experience
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management systems and legal matter management tools
- Bilingual English and French considered an asset
