About The Role
Join our growing legal team as a Commercial Counsel. In this collaborative role, you will provide clear, pragmatic legal advice, support customer negotiations, and help manage legal, regulatory, privacy, and commercial risks. You will act as a trusted legal partner to the business, assisting stakeholders in navigating customer and channel transactions. This position is ideal for an adaptable lawyer with commercial contracting experience who thrives in a fast-paced software environment.
- Collaborer avec les équipes de vente et d'autres parties prenantes pour fournir des conseils juridiques clairs et pragmatiques, soutenir les négociations avec les clients et aider à identifier et à gérer les risques juridiques, réglementaires et commerciaux.
- Examiner, rédiger et négocier une gamme d'accords commerciaux, y compris les contrats SaaS, BaaS, logiciels, services professionnels, accords de canal et NDA, en escaladant les questions complexes ou à haut risque si nécessaire.
- Participer au développement et à l'amélioration continue des modèles de contrat, des manuels de négociation et des processus juridiques, et soutenir la création et la livraison de matériel de formation pour aider les parties prenantes commerciales à comprendre les risques juridiques.
- Confidence to manage a high volume of matters, prioritise effectively and know when to seek input or escalate issues
- Commercial contracts experience, ideally within a software, SaaS, cloud technology or broader technology company
- Strong drafting, contract review and negotiation skills, with experience supporting customer and/or partner transactions
- Experience working with, or a strong interest in supporting, sales organisations and commercial teams in a fast-moving environment
- An understanding of privacy and data protection issues arising in commercial technology transactions, including customer contracting requirements relating to the processing, transfer, storage and protection of data
- Qualified lawyer with approximately 3–8+ years post-qualification experience, gained in a leading law firm and/or in-house legal department
- Ability to provide practical, succinct and commercially aware legal advice to business stakeholders
- Sound commercial judgement and an ability to assess risk proportionately, with support from senior colleagues where needed
- A solutions-oriented mindset and genuine passion for helping the business succeed while ensuring legal and commercial risks are appropriately managed
- Proactive, self-motivated and willing to take ownership of matters, while recognising when collaboration or escalation is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain legal concepts clearly and provide practical advice to a range of stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters and competing priorities
- Collaborative and team-oriented, with a willingness to learn, develop and contribute positively to the Legal team and wider business
