About The Role

Join Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC as a Software Engineer II in Los Angeles, CA. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain backend applications, integrate ETL outputs with reporting and analytics systems, and administer Linux servers. You will also monitor and debug end-to-end data flows, apply data analysis techniques, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. A Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field and two years of experience in large-scale ETL workflows and data transformation are required. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible.

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend applications, including servlet-based monolithic web applications and microservices.
  • Automate and optimize data pipelines through scheduled Bash and Python scripts for recurring workflows, batch execution, reruns, and failure handling.
  • Collaborate and participate in technical design discussions with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Js services, to integrate ETL outputs with reporting and analytics systems; automating and optimizing data pipelines through scheduled Bash and Python scripts for recurring workflows, batch execution, reruns, and failure handling; administering Linux servers, including job scheduling, log monitoring, and role-based user access control, supporting secure and stable operational environments; utilizing schema design, data normalization, indexing strategies, and SQL query optimization to support scalable ETL pipelines, data integrity, and analytical reporting; monitoring, debugging and validating end-to-end data flows, identifying data inconsistencies to ensure accuracy and reliability across ETL stages; applying data analysis and anomaly-detection techniques, including fraud detection and risk scoring to surface usage patterns and irregularities; developing analytics and anomaly-detection dashboards; and collaborating and participating in technical design discussions with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent and two (2) years of experience performing large-scale ETL workflows and data transformation using Microsoft SQL Server, Python, and Microsoft Excel; collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop Java and JavaScript based web applications, including Node
