AI Lead

Join Alira Health as an AI Lead, where you will define and execute the company's AI strategy and adoption roadmap. You will lead the integration of AI assistants and workflows into daily business processes, ensuring alignment with business priorities and data privacy requirements. You will oversee a team of Data and AI Engineers and be responsible for the design, delivery, and operation of scalable data and AI systems. This role requires a strong background in data science, AI delivery, and experience leading teams.

• Defining and executing Alira Health’s AI strategy and adoption roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities and governance standards.
• Leading the practical integration of AI assistants and agentic workflows into day-to-day business processes, focusing on scalable operational enablement.
• Overseeing a focused team of Data and AI Engineers, accountable for both the strategy and prioritization of AI initiatives, as well as the architecture and engineering of AI solutions.
• Proven cross-functional leadership with IS&T/IT, PMO, Operations, and business stakeholders
• Experience leading Data Engineering / MLOps / ML Engineering teams
• 5 years of experience across data science/ML, analytics, or AI delivery, including 2+ years leading teams
• Demonstrated experience implementing AI governance in regulated environments
• Proven experience designing and operating production data and ML systems at scale
• Master’s degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field (PhD a plus)
• Strong grasp of data and AI regulations
• Strong coaching and enablement orientation
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), orchestration tools, and modern data stacks
• High judgment and risk awareness
• Structured, pragmatic operator focused on delivery and outcomes
• Executive presence and strong influence across practices and functions
• Strong applied Generative AI and agentic workflows understanding plus practical implementation oversight
• Strong experience with data platforms, distributed systems, and scalable pipelines
• Deep experience with software, data and AI engineering practices (solution design, infrastructure-as-a-code, CI/CD, AI observability)
