Solution Architect
Tabs · New York, United States
About The Role
Join Tabs as a Solution Architect, where you'll design custom workflows, integrations, and platform extensions for our most complex and high-value customers. You'll be a key member of the Product Delivery team, shaping how we solve novel customer problems on the Tabs platform. Your role will involve evaluating customer requirements, designing solutions, and collaborating with various teams to ensure successful implementation. You'll also have the opportunity to influence the product roadmap and contribute to the long-term direction of our platform.
- Design custom workflows, integrations, and platform extensions for complex customer needs.
- Collaborate with sales, implementation, and customer success teams to scope projects and ensure feasibility.
- Define and evolve integration patterns, turning one-off solutions into reusable playbooks.
- You've designed and delivered custom customer solutions before, and you've seen enough integrations, edge cases, and failure modes to have real instincts
- You're a strong systems thinker. You reason naturally about data flows, dependencies, and where things break
- You can look at a customer's stack and a set of requirements and quickly form a point of view on the right approach, the risks, and the tradeoffs
- You care about elegance but you're pragmatic — you know when to build the right thing and when to ship the good-enough thing so the customer can go live
- You communicate clearly across audiences
- You can walk a CFO or controller through why a workflow needs to change, explain a design tradeoff to an engineer, and align a sales team on what's actually achievable in the timeline
- You bring calm and clarity to ambiguous, high-stakes conversations
- You're proactive, resourceful, and comfortable with ambiguity. You build the plan, socialize it, and drive it forward — without waiting for someone else to define the process
- Experience designing integrations across multiple systems (ERPs, CRMs, billing, payments, tax, or similar), ideally in fintech, SaaS, or B2B environments
- Strong systems and API fluency — you can read documentation, reason about data models and edge cases, and design workflows that hold up under real customer usage. You don't need to be a full-time engineer, but you should be comfortable getting hands-on where it matters
- Strong cross-functional communicator with experience partnering across GTM, Product, Engineering, and customer stakeholders
- Comfort operating in a startup environment with imperfect requirements, evolving priorities, and high customer expectations
- Experience in solutions architecture, forward-deployed engineering, implementation engineering, technical project management, or a similar role where you owned the design of customer-facing solutions
- Track record of surfacing customer and field signal to influence product and engineering priorities
- Background in finance, accounting, or revenue operations — or experience implementing platforms that touch those workflows (billing, revenue recognition, AR, close)
- Familiarity with SQL and light scripting (Python or similar) for investigation, prototyping, and validating designs
- Exposure to ASC 606 or other revenue recognition frameworks
- Experience integrating with ERPs like NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or QuickBooks, or CRMs like Salesforce or HubSpot
