Junior Software Engineer (Elixir)

Join Telnyx, a leading communication and connectivity services provider. As a Junior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the software that enables seamless delivery of our services. You will work with other engineering squads to improve the way they expose and monitor their services. This is a remote position with flexible working options and competitive benefits based on location.

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Telnyx’s engineering teams.
• Debug production issues across gateway, auth, network, and application layers.
• Work with engineers across the company to build new features at large-scale, both internally and externally.
• We’re looking for people with a strong background or interest in building successful products or systems; you’re comfortable in dealing with lots of moving pieces; you have exquisite attention to detail; and you’re comfortable learning new technologies and systems
• You're a team player and willing to put the team's success ahead of your own
• Have deep knowledge of microservices architecture patterns and anti-patterns
• Understand the challenges inherent in concurrent and distributed programming
• You take a thoughtful approach to decision making, knowing when to move fast and when to long-term optimize
• Have familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Consul, Prometheus, Grafana and/or RabbitMQ
• Have experience working with relational databases at scale
• Have an appreciation of functional programming and a strong desire to become an expert Elixir programmer
• Have 1-2 years of professional software development experience with an object-oriented or functional programming language (Elixir is preferred)
• You keep up to date with the latest technologies and patterns, and enjoy sharing what you’ve learned
• Experience building or operating customer-facing APIs, gateways, auth systems, or internal platforms
• You want to work in a fast-paced, product-driven environment
• Have experience with Envoy
