About The Role

Join our payload hardware team as a Senior Electrical Engineer. In this hands-on, collaborative role, you will design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for our payload. You will work closely with engineers from other subsystems and gain experience in assembly, integration, and system test processes. Responsibilities include owning and designing electrical subsystems, developing reliable PCBAs, managing the design cycle, troubleshooting and debugging in the lab, documenting your design, supporting integration and test, and mentoring others.

  • Conception, design, and integration of electrical subsystems for payload systems.
  • Development and testing of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) to ensure reliability in space.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and implementing improved design practices and standards.
  • Strong fundamentals in analog/digital circuit design, power systems, signal integrity, layout, and Design for Test/Manufacturing (DFT/DFM)
  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience with embedded control, architectures featuring FPGAs, MCUs, and communication buses (I2C, SPI, CAN, RS-422, Ethernet, etc)
  • Understanding of reliability methods, including Worst-Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA), part derating, and FMEA
  • Proven lab experience with hardware bring-up, board-level troubleshooting, and test automation
  • Proficiency with electrical design and simulation tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, Spice)
  • 5+ years of experience taking designs from schematic to layout, manufacturing, test and system integration
  • Mentorship mindset with a desire to build repeatable engineering practices
  • Rigorous attention to detail and a commitment to continuous process improvement
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset and the ability to communicate effectively
  • Working knowledge of space radiation effects and space design practices
  • Exposure to satellite systems, bus avionics or payload electronics
  • Experience with EMI/EMC design and mitigation
