About The Role

Join E-Space as a Principal Satellite Electrical Engineer specializing in digital circuits. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and testing of avionics digital processing hardware for E-Space satellites. You will work closely with the Electrical, Software, and Systems Engineering teams and report to the Director of Electrical Engineering. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience in electrical hardware design, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and testing.

  • Participate in all aspects of the development and testing of avionics digital processing hardware for E-Space satellites.
  • Own digital PCBA development from blank sheet to flight, including requirements, architectures, and con-ops.
  • Perform circuit simulations and analysis for signal integrity, timing, size/mass, power, etc., and lead design verification testing.
  • Skilled at performing circuit simulations and analysis for signal integrity, timing, size/mass, power, etc. Preferred tools include HyperLynx, Spice, silicon vendor supplied planning tools (ex Vivado)
  • Proficiency with basic electronic lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, soldering iron, etc
  • Skilled at schematic capture and layout of complex HDI PCBs
  • Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment
  • 15+ years of experience in digital or mixed signal electronics design including schematic capture, PCB layout, and testing
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • Design proficiency with processors, FPGAs, SoCs, memory, high speed data interfaces, switch mode power supplies, clocking, etc
  • FPGA or software design skills
  • Experience designing rigid-flex PCBs and general electro-mechanical design familiarity
  • RF and transmission line design and simulation skills
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer
  • Experience designing for space environments including radiation impacts and mitigation
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
