About The Role

Join NUWARD, an EDF subsidiary focused on developing small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs). As a Modularity & Constructability integration engineer, you will be responsible for implementing modularity and constructability methods to reduce on-site construction time. You will work in a collaborative team environment and report to the Head of Construction, Modularity and Constructability. The position is based in Lyon, with occasional trips to other NUWARD sites and partner engineering firms.

  • Développer des recommandations techniques et des exigences pour la modularité et la constructibilité, et aider les architectes à les intégrer.
  • Réaliser les activités décrites dans le calendrier de conception de base de la modularité/constructibilité et assurer l'achèvement approprié des autres activités.
  • Définir, en collaboration avec les équipes techniques et de contrôle de projet, les économies de coûts, de calendrier et de risques attendues résultant de l'implémentation des solutions de modularité/constructibilité.

📍Job based in **Lyon** with occasional trips to other NUWARD sites (Paris & Tours) and partner engineering firms.

You will report to the Head of Construction, Modularity and Constructability.

You will work in a collaborative team environment, operationally attached to one or more island managers (NI, NSSS, CI-BOP), and you will be responsible for integrating modularity and constructability levers in the islands to ensure the competitiveness of SMR series in terms of construction and commission schedules.

**Your profile:**

You have a degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or equivalent, with at least 5 years of experience, or you have a demonstrable level of experience based on years of project experience (at least 15 years).

  • You have initial experience in design, manufacturing, or construction projects with a modular component in the nuclear or other industries.
  • You understand modularization processes (design, manufacturing, construction) and how to take constructability into account in design; you have design skills in systems and/or layout.
  • You are able to identify obstacles before a project is actually built, in order to reduce or avoid errors, delays, and cost overruns.
  • You are able to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • You have good communication skills, the ability to influence, and a good sense of confidentiality.

Knowledge of BIM methodology and/or the French nuclear industry is a plus.

Fluency in written and spoken English is essential, with basic knowledge of French language if possible.
