About The Role

Join Xero as an Engineering Manager, where you will lead and manage a team of engineers focused on building software for new and improved features in Xero's products. You will serve as a coach and advisor to your direct reports, fostering a high-performance environment and ensuring alignment with Xero's strategic objectives. You will also own the hiring process for your group, drive the adoption of modern engineering practices, and lead the Bills team, which manages critical workflows in the Accounts Payable product area.

Lead, grow, and manage a team of engineers to build software for new or improved features in Xero's products.
Champion processes and practices that enable engineers to get great work done safely, while supporting and growing the next generation of technical talent.
Own the hiring process for your group, identify skill gaps and empower your team to make fast, decentralized decisions that reduce delays and enable innovative solutions.
Technical familiarity with high-scale products, fintech, .NET or React helps you review technical strategy, designs and architectural trade-offs effectively
You bring proven experience managing software development teams and a track record of building a healthy, inclusive team culture
A thorough understanding of modern software development practices, agile delivery, system architecture and incident management is part of your toolkit
Possessing strong communication skills helps you navigate conflict openly, ensuring you can comfortably push back when necessary to shield your team from competing priorities
Your collaborative approach allows you to work seamlessly with product, design and cross-functional stakeholders to plan, roadmap and proactively solve complex engineering problems
