Lead Data & AI Engineer

Join our team as a Lead Data & AI Engineer, where you'll be responsible for owning the pipelines, event tracking, and data models that drive analytics, reporting, and AI features. You'll work closely with the BI team and product engineering to ensure data integrity and reliability. This role requires strong production Python and software engineering fundamentals, as well as experience operating production data platforms and building backend infrastructure for production LLMs.

• Lead the development and maintenance of data pipelines, event tracking, and data models that support analytics, reporting, and AI features.
• Collaborate closely with the BI team and product engineering to ensure data integrity and reliability for dashboards, metrics, and product decisions.
• Mentor and guide team members on best practices in Python code quality, CI/CD workflows, and reliable system design.
• 6+ years strong production Python and software-engineering fundamentals (typing, testing, code review, and automated deployment)

• A default mindset geared toward systems architecture, API contracts, and failure modes
• 6+ years operating production data platforms with hands-on ownership of dbt + cloud-warehouses (Snowflake strongly preferred)
• The instinct to manage cloud spend, warehouse performance, and data quality without being asked
• You've built backend infrastructure for production LLMs (e.g., observability frameworks, evaluation pipelines, or cost attribution)
• You have practical ML engineering experience
