Staff Accountant

Join a fast-paced tech-enabled marketing agency as a Staff Accountant. In this critical role, you will maintain accurate financial records, support month-end close, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. You will be responsible for expense tracking, job/project accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and process improvement. • Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analyses, and manage fixed assets.
• Process vendor invoices, match POs, reconcile vendor payment, and ensure proper coding to jobs and cost centers.
• The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills and understands the unique financial workflows of an agency; project-based billing, WIP, pass-through costs, time tracking, and client-based revenue cycles
• CPA track or certification preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting practices
• Familiarity with time-tracking and project management systems preferred
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
• 1-3 years of tax and/or accounting related experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field strongly preferred
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
• Experience with project-based accounting, WIP, and client billing
• Experience with accounting or ERP systems (NetSuite, Workamajig, Deltek, Intacct, or similar)
