Senior Manager of Accounting (Financial Systems)

Join Brex as a Senior Manager of Accounting (Financial Systems). In this role, you will lead the strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of Brex's core Finance and Accounting systems. You will own the business roadmap for our core FinSys environment, ensuring that our systems, configurations, workflows, and data structures support scalable, accurate, and well-controlled financial operations. You will work cross-functionally in a detail-oriented environment where creative problem solving is highly valued.

• Lead the strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of Brex’s core Finance and Accounting systems, ensuring that systems, configurations, workflows, and data structures support scalable, accurate, and well-controlled financial operations.
• Own the systems roadmap for Accounting and Finance, prioritizing enhancements that improve scalability, accuracy, control, and user experience, and serve as the primary business owner for core FinSys tools.
• Drive automation and process improvement initiatives that reduce manual journal entries, reconciliations, handoffs, and spreadsheet dependencies across the close and reporting cycle.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and finance processes, including month-end close, financial reporting, procure-to-pay, and internal controls
• Have the initiative and desire for ongoing learning, innovation, and developing skills/functional expertise in new areas
• Comfortable navigating the gray and being resourceful
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills — you are organized and great at ensuring everyone’s on the same page
• Ability to translate accounting and operational requirements into scalable system solutions, process improvements, and control frameworks
• Demonstrated experience owning or leading implementations and enhancements for ERP and related Finance systems
• 8+ years of experience across Finance Systems, Accounting, Business Systems, or related functions in a public company, high-growth private company, or consulting environment
• Strong personal accountability for high quality work and a continuous improvement mindset
• Strong project management skills with the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives across multiple stakeholders and workstreams
• BA/BS degree, preferably in Business, Finance, or Accounting
• Experience with NetSuite, Coupa, Workday, Numeric, Zip, Looker, Hex and Pigment
• Experience designing and operating system-enabled controls in support of audits, SOX readiness, or regulatory reporting
• Experience supporting Accounting and Controllership organizations in a FinTech, payments, financial services, or SaaS environment
• Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and/or Google Gemini
