Senior/Lead Software Engineer (Network Systems)

Join Arista Networks as a Senior/Lead Software Engineer in Network Systems. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of software development, from defining projects to deployment and customer interactions. You will work with customers, product management, and hardware engineers to create innovative new network systems features. You will also develop and maintain features using C, C++, and Python, and provide technical leadership across features, projects, and tools. • Conception, design, and management of the development of new network systems features.
• Development and maintenance of features using C, C++, and Python, including building automated tests.
• Providing technical leadership across features, projects, and tools, and mentoring new and junior engineers.
• BS Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 8 years experience, or MS Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 6 years experience, or Ph.D. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 3 years experience, or equivalent work experience
• Applied understanding of software engineering principles
• Experience working with low level hardware components is a plus
• Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems is a plus
• Hands-on experience in the design and development of hardware device drivers and/or system management utilities
• Ability to work in small teams
• Ability to design a solution and implement features independently
• Knowledge of UNIX or Linux
• Expert knowledge of C or C++ and Python
• Strong problem solving and software troubleshooting skills
