Software Engineer (Layer1)

Join Arista Networks as a Layer1 Software Engineer, where you'll work on critical software that manages the physical layer of networking. • Conception, design, and management of the development of innovative new Layer1 features.
• Development and maintenance of features using C, C++, and Python, including building automated tests.
• Collaboration with hardware engineers to design optimal software control interfaces for managing Layer1 components.

• Ability to design a solution and implement features independently
• BS Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 3 years experience, or MS Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 2 years experience, or Ph.D. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 1 years experience, or equivalent work experience
• Expert knowledge of C or C++ and Python
• Experience working with low level hardware components is a plus
• Knowledge of UNIX or Linux
• Strong problem solving and software troubleshooting skills
• Applied understanding of software engineering principles
• Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems is a plus
• Ability to work in small teams
• Knowledge of digital communication technologies like modulation and signal encoding schemes is a plus
• This is a mid-level software engineer requirement not applicable for fresh graduates or interns
