Manager of Software Engineering Management (IT Asset Management)

Join our team as the Manager of Software Engineering Management, where you will lead the Software Asset Management (SAM) team within IT Asset Management (ITAM). In this hands-on leadership role, you will set technical direction, drive execution of key initiatives, oversee engineering operations, and foster collaboration across global teams. You will also manage product development activities, build and mentor a team of engineers, and partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Lead the Software Asset Management (SAM) team within IT Asset Management (ITAM) to support a product that helps enterprise organizations manage software licenses, optimize costs, and stay compliant.
• Set technical direction, drive execution of key initiatives such as license compliance and optimization, telemetry improvements, and innovative features like machine learning for contract analysis.
• Oversee engineering operations, ensure product quality and scalability, and foster collaboration across global teams, including close partnership with the IDC team to deliver 24x7 customer support.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to mentor and grow high-performing teams
• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This includes using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s impact on engineering practices
• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience
• Advanced coding skills with fluency in one or more relevant programming languages (Java, C++, Ruby, Shell, JavaScript, or similar)
• Proven ability to design and implement effective testing strategies, including automation and performance testing
• 5+ years of experience as a technical lead for technical teams
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams with combined engineering and quality responsibilities
• Experience with open source tools, automation frameworks, and agile development environments
• Strong background in modern software engineering practices and technologies relevant to large-scale enterprise products
