About The Role
Join Catapult, a leading sports performance technology company, as a Senior Software Engineer in our Motorsport development team. Based in London, you will play a key role in developing new capabilities for our RaceWatch software, particularly for Endurance racing strategy. You will work closely with product managers and customers to design features, prioritize tasks, and identify innovative new features. As a technical leader within the team, you will design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code, ensuring code quality and best practices throughout the development process. A passion for motorsport and a proven track record of building applications in C/C++ are essential.
- Lead the development of RaceWatch software for various motorsport series, working closely with product managers and customers to design features and prioritize tasks.
- Act as a mentor and provide technical leadership to other team members, ensuring code quality, organization, and best practices throughout the development process.
- Identify innovative ways to enhance the software, anticipate and meet customer needs, and maintain and enhance software reliability.
- Experience developing products, scaling them, and supporting them throughout the entire lifecycle
- An ability to multi-task and thrive in a dynamic work environment with changing priorities
- A passion for Motorsport
- 5+ years working in a fast-paced, technical environment, delivering software to customers
- A proven track record of building applications in C/C++
- Ability to help cover live motorsport events at weekends on a rotational basis with the rest of the team
- A willingness to go above and beyond for the customer
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff, both internally and when speaking to customers
- An aptitude for working with complex data
- Degree in computer science or other scientific or technical subject
- Prior experience working in motorsport is a strong advantage
- An understanding of the challenges faced by motorsport officials and teams in managing and participating in events
- Experience with ticketing and project management platforms, such as JIRA or Monday
- Experience using Catapult’s RaceWatch software
- Experience developing Windows applications in Visual Studio
- Experience developing applications that process video
