About The Role

Join Anthropic, a leading AI safety and research company, as a Software Security Engineering Manager. In this role, you will lead the Secure Frameworks Research team, design security frameworks and libraries, and collaborate with various teams to ensure smooth integration of security controls. You will also manage and grow a team of engineers, define success metrics, and make strategic decisions about framework development.

  • Lead the Secure Frameworks Research team to build high-leverage security frameworks and libraries that enhance model development security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to own critical security foundations, including cryptographic frameworks and secure serialization systems.
  • Manage and grow a team of engineers to deliver high-impact projects that balance security rigor with development velocity.
  • 3+ years managing security engineering teams with proven track record of team productivity
  • Experience working with technical internal customers
  • Low ego, high empathy, and have a track record as a talent magnet
  • Passionate about building diverse, high-performing teams and growing engineers in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear and persuasive communicator in both writing and verbal settings
  • Familiarity with AI safety concepts and frameworks
  • 5+ years hands-on security and software engineering experience
  • Deep expertise in securing complex architectures, threat modeling, and risk assessment with ability to evaluate security tradeoffs and make risk-based decisions
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, balancing security requirements with developer experience and velocity

  • Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices
