Financial Accounting Manager

Join CesiumAstro, a growing startup in the aerospace and defense industry, as a Financial Accounting Manager. In this critical role, you will oversee accounting operations and financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and government contracting requirements. You will lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, oversee general ledger activity, and ensure accurate financial reporting. You will also serve as a trusted accounting advisor to management and partner with cross-functional leaders.

• Oversee accounting operations and financial reporting activities in compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial results, and oversee general ledger activity.
• Research, interpret, and implement new and existing accounting standards, and provide leadership in complex accounting areas, including revenue recognition.
• Experience with enterprise ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP , SEC reporting, and internal controls (SOX)
• Experience within public companies, preferably in aerospace, defense, regulated manufacturing, or IPO-ready environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
• Big 4 public accounting and public company experience, with 2–5 years in a leadership or management role
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet recurring deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
• Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• CPA certification
• Experience with FAR/CAS and government contracting accounting
