Senior Engineering Manager (Systems Engineering)

Join our team as a Senior Engineering Manager (Systems Engineering) where you will lead the Systems Engineering department in the development of complex space vehicles and payload systems. You will be responsible for functional management, resource deployment, process development, customer interfaces, mentoring, performance evaluation, and career development of department members. You will also drive accountability, promote engagement of company culture and values, and develop our company methodology for technical documents.

• Developing and implementing standard processes for system engineering, including requirements management and Verification & Validation plans.
• Leading the Systems Engineering team in the development of complex space vehicles and payload systems, ensuring collaboration with other engineering teams.
• Managing the deployment of resources to programs, mentoring department members, and driving accountability to meet customer expectations.
• Ability to define work direction, track milestones, and demonstrate progress on large open-ended projects
• The ability to work well in teams, with peers, and management
• Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. government security clearance
• Work well under pressure and with competing priorities
• Master’s or Doctorate degree in applicable engineering discipline
• 6+ years of experience in technical lead / people management roles
• You take initiative and enjoy implementing new processes and procedures
• You have the natural ability to lead and mentor others and enjoy creating a collaborative, inventive, and high-energy dynamic environment
• 11+ years of experience in field of space communications
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills
• Experience working with product/component developers and vendors who provide critical functionality to the overall system
• Sense of urgency and the ability to convey priorities to and motivate the team
• Experience with and understanding of satellite-communications standards (NR NTN, DVB-S2x, CCSDS)
