About The Role

Join Merge, a fast-growing startup, as a Senior Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day corporate accounting operations, supporting the month-end close process, and implementing systems and processes to support our growth. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and have ownership over financial processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and has experience in general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.

  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Oversee accounts payable functions, including managing our offshore team’s work, coordinate vendor onboarding, reviewing vendor invoices, managing vendor payments.
  • Assist in annual financial statement audit, preparing audit schedules & other audit requests, and interacting directly with external audit staff.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month end/year end close process is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with financial audit preparation is strongly preferred
  • Excellent writing, oral communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail
  • Added bonus to have: direct accounting experience for any/all of the following areas: accruals, ASC 718 share-based payments, ASC 842 leases. Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.), Campfire, Ramp, and Ordway
  • 1+ years of relevant accounting experience; Combination of public accounting (Big 4 strongly preferred) and industry experience (start-up through to becoming a public Company experience a plus)
  • Proven proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc); must be highly proficient in Excel and Google suite products
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or equivalent preferred
  • Excellent problem solving skills; project management experience a plus, ability to work in a fast pace environment
