Java Backend Engineering Lead

Join our team as a Java Backend Engineering Lead, where you will be responsible for the overall backend ecosystem across the organization. You will combine people leadership with ownership of backend architecture, standards, and delivery quality. This role requires close alignment with the Head of Engineering and Chapter Leads, ensuring all key decisions and initiatives follow the broader engineering vision. You will define and drive the backend vision across teams, ensure consistency in backend application development and maintenance, and lead and support backend engineers. Additionally, you will own and drive key people processes for the team, build a strong backend community, and ensure backend delivery is predictable, scalable, and high quality across teams.

• Identificar y resolver problemas sistémicos de entrega o calidad, y apoyar a los equipos para evitar iniciativas backend complejas y arriesgadas.
• Strong experience with Java stack (SpringBoot, Liquidbase, etc.)
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders
• Solid understanding of Java and Postgres performance, database modeling and risk analysis
• Proven experience leading backend initiatives across multiple teams
• Experience defining architecture and driving adoption at scale
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and influencing technical direction
