About The Role

Join Jagex, the creators of RuneScape, as an Automation Engineer on a 22-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will design, build, and evolve automation systems, tools, and workflows for an open-world experience in Unreal Engine. You will have the opportunity to shape the automation framework from the ground up and directly influence development velocity, build confidence, and the quality of a high-quality multiplayer game experience.

  • Design, build, and evolve automation systems, tools, and workflows that support an open-world experience in Unreal Engine across PC and console platforms.
  • Identify the highest-impact automation opportunities with QA and engineering teams, prioritizing work that removes repetitive manual testing and unlocks more strategic QA coverage.
  • Integrate automation workflows into CI/CD pipelines, supporting continuous integration and delivery across game systems, content, services, and release processes.
  • Strong understanding of PC and console development environments and the tooling requirements involved in testing and delivery across multiple platforms
  • Strong experience in game QA automation, with an understanding of player-focused testing and how automation improves coverage, confidence, and risk detection
  • Demonstrable experience developing tools for game development pipelines, validation workflows, content processing, or developer productivity
  • Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining automation systems or frameworks from the ground up
  • Strong experience with build systems, deployment pipelines, release management workflows, and version control systems such as Perforce
  • Track record integrating automation with CI/CD platforms such as TeamCity, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar
  • Demonstrable UE5 C++ experience, with the ability to build robust automation, tooling, or systems for game development
