Senior Software Engineer (Infrastructure)

Join Skydio, a leading drone manufacturer, as a Senior Software Engineer (Infrastructure). In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for supporting our Kubernetes fleet and making software changes to the core product. You will have the freedom to operate across the entire stack and affect the architecture, security, and functionality of the product. Your responsibilities will include re-architecting and maintaining our Kubernetes fleet, improving continuous delivery, working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with security, and driving cost-saving initiatives. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in an SRE, DevOps, or equivalent infrastructure role, prior experience implementing continuous deployment systems, and a strong understanding of cloud platform architecture.

• Re-architect and maintain the Kubernetes fleet and its supporting infrastructure, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Continually improve and expand the continuous delivery of the product, implementing best practices for deployment.
• Work in cross-functional teams to build new capabilities for the platform, collaborating with hardware and cloud teams.
• 5+ years of experience as a SRE, DevOps or equivalent infrastructure role.
• Prior experience implementing continuous deployment systems
• Ability and interest in being delegated business objectives and seeking out the solutions
• Understand cloud platforms architecture, especially networking, security, storage, and resilient application topologies
• Not hesitant to jump into the code to fix the underlying issue (Python or Go preferred)
• Can comfortably debug and automate Kubernetes clusters
• Familiarity with supporting both SaaS and self-hosted applications
• Experience with supporting drones or highly automated physical hardware
