Director of Tax

Join Together AI, a fast-paced startup in the AI infrastructure space, as the Director of Tax. In this role, you will develop and execute a comprehensive global tax strategy, lead all tax compliance and reporting, and advise on tax implications of corporate structure and expansion. You will also manage indirect tax strategy, data center operations tax treatment, international expansion, and build scalable tax processes. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of progressive tax experience, strong knowledge of U.S. and international tax laws, and experience in high-growth technology or AI infrastructure companies.

• Develop and execute a comprehensive global tax strategy aligned with business objectives, optimizing effective tax rate through strategic planning and structuring.
• Lead all federal, state, and international tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely tax filings and provisions under U.S. GAAP and applicable international laws.
• Advise on U.S. and international indirect tax matters, including sales tax and VAT/GST across key jurisdictions, with a focus on AI, cloud, and compute offerings.
• IPO or mid-to-late-stage private company experience, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or Master's in Taxation (MST) preferred
• Experience in high-growth technology or AI infrastructure companies; familiarity with indirect tax in cloud-based and hardware-inclusive business models
• Familiarity with emerging regulatory frameworks impacting AI infrastructure companies
• 10+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting and/or in-house roles, including experience building tax functions from the ground up
• Strong knowledge of U.S. and international direct and indirect tax laws, including transfer pricing and global structuring
