Senior Backend Software Engineer

Join our team as a Senior Backend Software Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in developing AI-based autonomous industrial robotic solutions. You will design, develop, and deploy the critical infrastructure needed to support a range of industrial automation applications. Collaborating closely with the Machine Learning and Robot Control Software teams, you will craft an efficient software platform and data pipeline that supports our core backend systems. Your responsibilities will include building backend systems to manage our fleet of autonomous robots, managing compute clusters for training machine learning models, and developing and maintaining the backend for internal and customer-facing services.

• Design, develop, and deploy critical infrastructure to support industrial automation applications.
• Collaborate with Machine Learning and Robot Control Software teams to create an efficient software platform and data pipeline.
• Build and manage compute clusters for training machine learning models and support the growing fleet of autonomous robots.
• Direct experience working with industrial robotics applications
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field with equivalent experience and 3-10 years of experience
• Strong foundational knowledge of REST and/or gRPC API design
• Experience programming in Python, Go, or Rust
• Knowledge of distributed and micro-service systems
• A track record of building and delivering distributed systems
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and/or orchestration tools
• Experience with Terraform
• Experience working with large data sources and data pipelines
• Experience with managing kubernetes clusters on major cloud providers (primarily GCP)
• Experience with Cloud Run/Cloud Function/API Gateway
• Strong familiarity with Linux and shell scripting/tooling
• Knowledge of fundamental networking concepts and ability to debug and diagnose network issues
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration
• Good knowledge of databases and experience with building and managing data processing pipelines at scale
