Director of Engineering (Commerce)

As the Director of Engineering for Commerce, you will lead the development of our end-to-end commerce platform, overseeing catalog, pricing, promotions, payments, and checkout. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a fast, trustworthy, and conversion-optimized commerce experience. • Lead the engineering teams responsible for the end-to-end commerce platform, including catalog, pricing, promotions, payments, and checkout.
• Drive the vision and execution of the next-generation commerce platform, leading the shift to a rich, durable catalog domain model.
• Oversee platform architecture for scalability, reliability, security, and compliance, with particular rigor for payments and financially sensitive transactions.
• Strategic thinker with a bias for action and passion for building user-centric, data-driven health experiences
• Strong communication skills and executive presence — able to translate between technical and business stakeholders
• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years leading multiple teams or organizations in high-growth environments
• Ability to define and execute technical roadmaps aligned with product vision and business outcomes
• Expertise in building scalable, secure, and compliant systems handling clinical or health-related data
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing engineering talent
• Proven success leading cross-functional product engineering teams and owning end-to-end consumer experiences
• Experience integrating third-party data sources, APIs, and device platforms (labs, wearables, fulfillment)
• Experience in health tech, e-commerce, or subscription-based platforms preferred
• Strong technical background with understanding of modern web and service architectures (Node.js, GraphQL, React, TypeScript, AWS, Kubernetes)
